Adsense and Google’s Smart-Pricing
GET SMART WITH ADSENSE. Clueless Adsense users need to wake up and be smart with Google’s pay-per-click ads. Creating a blog and dumping Adsense on it may not be enough to earn some good money from Google. You got to work smart to beat the Big G’s smart-pricing.
So how do you get around this smart-ass thing? I knew you’re gonna ask that?
Knowing the ground rules for dealing with Google’s smart-pricing could lead you to a healthier return of revenue from your Adsense ads.
It does not only affect your one blog with Adsense, it will hit all your blogs with the same Adsense account. That’s pretty scary when you are targeted for smart-pricing by the Big G.
Would you like to see your Adsense earnings drop all across your blogs? Of course, no. It’s a fact that many bloggers complain to their friends and other bloggers about the wretched 0.01 or 0.02 cent clicks that they see often in their Adsense account! What you want to see are clicks that could earn you 0.50 or 1.00, or even more.
Smart-pricing will come about when your site keeps getting poor click-through-rate (CTR) on the ads. Anything that’s below 2 per cent is ‘easy meat’ for Google to start paying you less commissions to your Adsense account.
How would you like that? Certainly you would not want to be dumped into a smart-pricing straitsjacket. So how to prevent smart-pricing and reverse the situation? You need to keep a vigil on all your blogs. One way to know how things are getting on is to create channels in your Adsense account and watch those numbers.
When you notice that you are dropping below the 2 per cent threshold, it’s time for you to shift things around. I know it’s easy for me to say but doing it takes some understanding of the situation.
For example, you might want to take Adsense off of your blog for a spell and put them back later to buck the trend, so to speak. Shuffle the ads around. Maybe your blog is not getting enough traffic. There could be a number of other reasons and you will need to experiment to see how things pan out.
The Thing About Niche Blogs
If your main focus is on making money from Adsense, niche blogs are where the action is. Many savvy bloggers who have gone in that direction will swear by it. But if you ask them where are these niche blogs they will be evasive or politely tell you they cannot be disclosed.
Don’t blame them for acting snotty. There’s a good reason to keep those blog sites anonymous because if you have ‘enemies’ they might visit these sites and create ‘havoc’ with fraudulent clicks that could earn you a ban by Google.
Niche blogging or niche marketing is up for grabs if you know how to apply the right keywords or key phrases and being smart about search engine optimization to drive traffic to your blog.
Niche blogs don’t have to be eye candy sites. The uglier the better, that’s the theory. They are there to accomodate Adsense and for you to click those ads just to make a quick exit from the site because the site is uglier than ‘Ugly Betty.” Just don’t make your blog look like a spam site.
Niche blogging is one of the ways to generate online income with Adsense, if you think you have the capacity and energy to go in that direction.
People have been told to build niche blogs – as many as you can manage – and place Adsense on them and pray that visitors will click on them. Well, it’s not as simple as that. If you just sit back and do nothing more, you can be sure you are going to get absolutely worthless Adsense clicks. And that could be Google’s smart-pricing at work.
